Areas of Practice

We practice all manner of criminal defense in the State Courts of Florida including administrative hearings associated with driver's license defense related to DUI charges. Usually, our practice is geographically limited to Northeast Florida.

Misdemeanor offenses are crimes for which the punishment will not exceed up to one year in jail and are generally handled in County Court. Only first degree misdemeanors carry punishment of that nature but most, depending on circumstances, criminal history and potential injuries to others result in fines, court costs and probation. Other misdemeanor charges routinely dealt with include:

  • Affray/Fighting
  • Assault
  • Battery — including Domestic Battery
  • BUI
  • DUI
  • Driving Offenses — DWSLR, NVDL
  • Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer
  • Petit Theft
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Resisting Arrest without Violence
  • Various Traffic Offenses
  • Other Misdemeanor Offenses

Felony offenses are those of a more serious nature and are punishable by more than one year in custody, i.e. a prison sentence is always possible for a felony charge. A felony conviction alone, without a prison sentence can have severe repercussions for your future. Felonies may effect your eligibility for certain types of licensures, positions and admission to government facilities for work as a contractor or employee of a contractor. Some of the more common felony offenses are:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Aggravated Battery
  • Felony Battery
  • Felony DUI
  • Grand Theft
  • Non-capital Homicide
  • Possession of Controlled Substances
  • Sale of Controlled Substances
  • Sexual Assault
  • Sexual Battery
  • Traffic Homicide
  • Trafficking in Controlled Substances
